Romanian based brand, Allview has announced its first smartphone of the year – the Allview X3 Soul which will usher in the company’s third generation of smartphones. The X3 Soul is already available for pre-order in Europe for a price tag of EUR 299 in Gold and Gray; deliveries start on February 23rd, 2016.
Housed in a body with 89% metal, the Allview X3 Soul sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display with OGS technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It relies on a True Octa-core 64-bit processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).
It measures 6.9mm thin, has Hybrid Dual SIM slots (with Dual 4G mode), USB Type-C port and boots Android 5.1 Lollipop OS but no word on upgrade to Android Marshmallow. A 3150mAh battery with fast charging and smart energy consumption modes, is in charge of proceedings which is expected to deliver up to 900 minutes of talk time and up to 210 hours in standby.
In the camera aspect, there is a front facing 5MP AutoFocus camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 13MP camera with PDAF (0.1s focus time), f/2.0 aperture and takes up to 65MP photos in Super Photo mode. There are also camera functions such as Professional Mode, Anytime Photo, Manual Focus, Filter, HDR, Panoramic or Night.
The Allview X3 Soul is a kiddies-friendly smartphone with a dedicated children’s world app and the parental control restriction kind of access. There is also a private gallery with password for keeping confidential images.
