Huawei officially unveiled two of its super high-end smartphones under the P9 series yesterday during the special event in London – P9 and P9 Plus. However, another model in the P9 series has gone official in Russia just after the London announcement, which is nothing but the P9 Lite. It comes as a successor to P8 Lite, which accounted the best sales in entire P8 series with more than 10 million smartphones. The sales figure further helped to Huawei to boost the profits and market share across the globe. As the name suggests, the P9 Lite brings the compromises to the table to compensate the low price. Let’s take an in-depth look at the device’s pros and cons.
It is obvious that P9 Lite sports the same design language as rest of the P9 series devices. Surprisingly, it also boasts similar display to the slightly premium version P9, the return of 5.2-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution is a welcome addition. The device is powered by a lower category Kirin 650 Octa-core processor with either 2GB or 3GB RAM. The 16GB internal storage can be expandable via microSD slot up to 128GB. There is a Hybrid Dual SIM slot so that users can opt for either Dual SIM configuration or Single SIM and microSD combination. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with heavily skinned EMUI 4.1.

The imaging department is the one, where Huawei will save huge money by opting to the traditional 13MP camera sensor instead of borrowing the 12MP Dual Camera system from its siblings. The front 8MP shooter should take decent Selfies, though. On the connectivity side, the 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS are present to deal with your daily wireless connection requirements.
Huawei has done the fabulous job by packing the 3000mAh battery inside the beautifully crafted shell, same as P9, which can be charged via USB Type-C cable. We hope to see the fast charging capabilities here.
The Huawei P9 Lite comes in wide range of color options. The tentative availability is around June. However, Huawei is mum on the further details like pricing and region availability, but we will see more information in coming days.
