The Chinese manufacturer Huawei entered into the Wearables category in 2014 with the release of the TalkBand B1. It was unique in its way and acted as Bluetooth earpiece on one side, also a fitness tracker on the other side. To remind you, the company released TalkBand B2 last year, just like the original model it can be used as a Bluetooth headset as well Activity Tracker. But the TalkBand B1 and B2 failed to catch the attention from the end users due to its high pricing. Many consumers looked elsewhere for affordable alternative fitness bands, however, Huawei is still going to give another try with the latest announcement of TalkBand B3, a successor to the TalkBand B2. Let’s see what surprises Huawei has packed into this brand new wearable.
The TalkBand B3 comes in three different models – Active, Classic, and Elite. The Active model sports stainless steel frame along with a rubber band for a premium look on hand, whereas the Classic and Elite models comes with leather and metal bands, respectively. Functionality wise, the trio of Wearable gadgets works similarly, and you can use this as SmartBand and Bluetooth Headset. The Headset is incorporated with OLED touchscreen featuring a resolution of 128 x 80 pixels, which also protected by Gorilla Glass. The Bluetooth Headset with curved OLED screen wrapped in a stainless steel frame. There are two release buttons on the steel frame that release the Bluetooth headset when pressed simultaneously.

The POLED screen on TalkBand B3 supports swipe up, down, and touch gestures and can be used to view/call contacts, adjust the volume, find your phone, start an exercise session, find your phone and much more. In addition, the TalkBand B3 built-in side button supports press & hold, double press gestures and can be used to Power on or off, answer, reject incoming calls, turn on the screen, take photos remotely, return to the main screen, dial to the last dialed number and some other important functionalities.
It has 128KB RAM, 16MB flash (external) and 512KB flash (built-in) storage and is powered by a 91mAh battery that claims to deliver maximum 6 hours of talk time and 3-4 days standby time. Moreover, TalkBand B3’s Capsensor identifies whether the device is on your wrist or not, ensuring your sleep patterns are accurately captured. On the other hand, the Bluetooth Headset works on 2.4GHz frequency up to 10 meters distance and the high-grade CSR chip and noise-reduction algorithm provides high-quality, crystal clear sound while you’re in a call. In addition, the dual-microphone design and optimized antenna will give you uninterrupted calling even in the difficult and noisy environments.
The TalkBand B3’s smarter health tracking system automatically detects and adjusts to various types of physical activities such as Run Mode, Walk Mode, Ride Mode, Climb Mode and Sleep Mode. The TalkBand B3 pairs seamlessly with your Android 4.3+ and iOS 7.0+ smartphones or newer. All you need to do is pair your Huawei TalkBand B3 with your smartphone and check your progress through the smartphone APP.
The TalkBand B3 is IP57 dust and waterproof, except the Leather Band in Classic model. The Bluetooth Headset also has a microUSB port for charging, and it measures 43.08 x 18.44 x 10.53 mm.
Price & Availability:
The Huawei’s TalkBand B3 SmartBand with Bluetooth Headset price starts at €169 for Active model, and the price goes up to €199 for Classic model and €249 for Elite model. The Active model comes in Black and White rubber bands, while the Classic and Elite models will be available in Brown & Beige and Titanium, respectively.
