Improved water resistance, iris scanner may be in works for Samsung Galaxy Note 6 hard-reset.net

With all of the good news coming out of Samsung regarding the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, eyes are starting to turn to the company’s next flagship release which should be the Galaxy Note 6. Sources have indicated that Samsung is on an aggressive schedule to push the release date into July, a strategy similar to their acceleration of the Galaxy S7 devices. When it does launch, new rumors suggest Samsung will take another page out of their new playbook and may add a new page.
Besides an accelerated release schedule, Samsung appears to be planning to bring an IP68 water and dust resistance certification to the Galaxy Note 6. This is the same rating that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge possess and allow the devices to stay submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for a half hour, a major step up from IP67 resistance which basically covers accidental splashing or maybe some rain. This would be the first time Samsung has provided this level of resistance to a device in their Galaxy Note line, no doubt partially due to the challenges of securing the slot that holds the stylus in addition to the normal potential intrusion points.
A new wrinkle that Samsung may introduce is the presence of an iris scanner in the Galaxy Note 6. Sources discovered an entry in the Zauba import database for an iris camera for Samsung Mobile. Guesses are Samsung has imported this camera into India for testing in the Galaxy Note 6 as an iris scanner would definitely fall in the range of cutting-edge technology for a flagship device like the Galaxy Note 6.
