Lenovo today announced Vibe K5, an all-new Vibe series smartphone with TheatreMax technology support, which is also specially designed for multimedia enthusiasts on a budget. For those wondering, the Vibe K5 is based on the Vibe K5 Plus that was launched in India back in March for INR 8499. Design-wise, the Vibe K5 has been offering similar aluminum casing what we have seen in Vibe K5 Plus. Let’s find out how do the two smartphones stack up against each other?
In terms of technical, the majority of the hardware specs in the Vibe K5, and the Vibe K5 Plus are similar, except the display resolution and processor. The Vibe K5 features a 5-inch 1280×720 display, which is a lower resolution than the 5-inch 1920×1080 display found on the Vibe K5 Plus. On the other hand, the Vibe K5’s processor also has been downgraded, coming with slightly less powerful Snapdragon 415 SoC rather than the Snapdragon 616 chip found on the Vibe K5 Plus. However, both the chipsets are complimented by Octa-core configuration and paired with Adreno 405 GPU. The Vibe K5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD.
