Finally, the Windows 10 OS running Microsoft Lumia 650 has gone official. The metal-clad device will go on sale in select European markets beginning February 18 for a suggested retail price tag of US$199 (before local taxes and subsidies). Available colour options are Matte Black and Matte White.
Dressed in premium looking highly polished, diamond cut and anodized aluminium frame, the Microsoft Lumia 650 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a pixel density of 297ppi. It measures 6.9 mm thin (full dimensions – 142 x 70.9 x 6.9 mm), weighs in at 122 grams and is backed by a removable 2000mAh battery.
Under the hood, it relies on a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card slot. Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, micro USB, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS/A-GPS/A-GLONASS/A-Beidou.
In the camera segment, the Lumia 650 has a front facing 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and a rear facing 8MP AutoFocus camera with f/2.2, LED flash. The device has a single Nano SIM slot, comes with all the features of Windows 10 – Cortana, Microsoft Edge, etc. and lasts up to 26 days of standby time & up to 16 hours of talk time on 4G.
