OPPO A59 with 5.5″ display, 3GB RAM launched in China hard-reset.net

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has officially launched OPPO A59, which is a toned-down version of flagship R9 smartphone. OPPO originally launched the R9 & R9 Plus in mid-March 2016 for Chinese folks and the Oppo R9 Plus, in particular, is aimed to fulfill the needs of a selfie passionates that houses a 16-megapixel camera on the rear as well as on the front. Since the official launch in March, the company managed to sell more than 500,000 units of R9 and R9 Plus in China, which eventually pushed the OPPO’s offline sales furthermore.

Coming to the OPPO A59 specifications, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch IPS HD screen with a pixel density of 267 ppi. A 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 Octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM power the handset. The OPPO A59 has a 32GB of internal storage, which you can further expand it via microSD card slot up to 128 GB and a fingerprint sensor on the front side embedded in the home button.

The smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera is complemented by LED Flash, PDAF, and f/2.0 aperture, while the front camera features a f/2.2 aperture, 1.4-micron pixels, and 78-degree wide-angle lens. A non-removable 3075 mAh battery powers the OPPO A59. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Hybrid Dual SIM slot, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG and Micro USB 2.0. The OPPO handset measures 154.5 x 76 x 7.38 mm and weighs 160 grams.

The pricing for the OPPO A59 will be set at 1799 Yuan, and the device has been announced only for the Chinese market. Currently, the device is up for pre-order in China and will be available in Gold and Rose Gold color options. There is no word if the handset will also be made available in other markets.
