Samsung, the South Korean handset maker, was launched first Active model smartphone in the United States by AT&T on 21 June 2013, which is named as Samsung Galaxy S4 Active with waterproof and dust-proof based on IP67 certification. Followed by Samsung Galaxy S5 Active handset in 2014 and Galaxy S6 Active smartphone in 2015. Now, the company has introduced in another Active model handset with upgraded software enhancements called as Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. It has a fourth Active model series smartphone which comes with waterproof, dust-proof and shatterproof technology with IP68 certification.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active smartphone sports a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and offers a 575 PPI of pixel density. There is a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protecting from scratches and smudges in wet regions. It comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with Adreno 530 Graphics which has Quad-core processor clocks at 2.2 GHz. The handset is running on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
It supports dual SIM dual Standby and offers 4G LTE. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, FM Radio, 3.5 mm Audio Jack, Micro-USB port and NFC. The Galaxy S7 Active houses a 32 GB internal memory which will further expandable up to 200 GB via microSD card slot coupled with 4 GB RAM. It has shatterproof technology which will protect your device drops from up to 5 feet height and the waterproof feature that can allow up to five feet depth in water up to 30 minutes.
In the camera department, it bears a 12-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash which can record videos up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. In the front, it has a 5-megapixel secondary camera for capturing selfies and video chats. The device is powered by larger 4000mAh capacity battery compared to Galaxy S7 handset has a 3000mAh battery. It can deliver a talk time up to 32 hours and will be charged the full battery within two hours.
The Galaxy S7 Active smartphone features a fingerprint sensor embedded in the physical home button. It measures 148.8 x 75 x 9.9 mm of dimensions and weight is around 185 grams. The handset will be available in Sandy Gold, Cammo Green, and Titanium Grey color variants and will be priced at $799 (approx. Rs.53000). The device will also be purchase in two schemas; one is at $26.50 for 30 months period and the second one is at $33.13 for 24 months.
Recently, the South Korean giant has launched Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro smartphone priced at 990 Yuan (approx. Rs.10090 / $150) and will be available in Gold and Grey color variants. The Company claims to offer Samsung Gear S2 headset free on purchasing of Samsung Galaxy S7 Active ruggedized handset on AT&T. It is also giving a 2-years agreement for $0.99 to get Samsung Galaxy Tab E.
