Months after introducing its first smartphone Apollo with 6GB RAM, the Chinese upstart Vernee has unveiled the Lite version of the Apollo smartphone. The new Apollo Lite comes with a Zn-Ti alloy unibody, classic rectangle design with rounded corners and dual-C chamfering makes Apollo Lite look beautiful from every angle. In addition to that metal body, the new Apollo Lite sports USB Type-C port along with lossless audio support, which pumps out real digital music via Type-C supported headphones. The Apollo Lite features a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, which is slightly lower resolution than the 2560×1440 screen found on the flagship Apollo. The Apollo Lite’s processor also has been downgraded to Helio X20 Deca-core SoC rather than the more powerful Helio X25 Deca-core chipset found on the Apollo. Moreover, this new Lite version of Apollo is available with 4GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, whereas the Apollo smartphone available in 6GB RAM and 128GB configuration.

The Apollo Lite boasts 16-megapixel primary camera, in contrast to the Apollo’s 21-megapixel rear shooter. The Apollo Lite’s 16-megapixel (f/2.0) ISOCELL rear camera also equipped with Dual ISP architecture as well Dynamic Depth of Field and RWB (Red-White-Blue) color filter that enhances light sensitivity and color fidelity to a high degree, allowing for improved performance in low light conditions. The rear camera bundle also includes dual-tone temperature flash and PDAF, which lets you focus an object in 0.1 secs. The front camera on the Apollo Lite is a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E2 sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens to fulfill your selfie needs.
Rounding out the Apollo Lite’s spec list is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, Hybrid Dual SIM slot and a 3180mAh battery that can be quickly juiced up using MediaTek’s Pump Express 3.0 tech that can give you enough charge for 1 hour of talk time in 10 minutes. On the software side, the Apollo Lite is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow beneath Vernee’s Custom VOS user interface. Vernee touts that the latest update to VOS is simpler, smoother, and beautiful interface to use thanks to system optimizations.
