For the past several weeks, you may have heard about IPL tournament season 9, and the Vivo mobiles is also the title sponsor for IPL 9 in India. Just a couple of days ahead of the major cricketing event, Vivo took the veil off not one, but two new smartphones in the Indian market, meet the Vivo V3 and V3 Max. The V3 and V3 Max are company’s new flagship duo of smartphones wrapped in a premium metal body, and a rear-fitted 360-degree fingerprint scanner that can unlock the device in 0.5 seconds, as well as the camera configuration relying on a 13MP rear sensor, and an 8MP front shooter.
It’s no secret that a couple of same series smartphones who virtually share the same moniker, and the Vivo V3 and V3 Max is not one to be left behind. Looking at the outer shell, we quickly realize the V3 and V3 Max are built from the same material, which is an aluminum alloy that complemented by curvy 2.5D Tempered glass front cover, and also the back cover, including zircon sand coating and anodized to provide elegant shimmering effect with a smooth tactile finish.

With all of the above being said, here’re few things where the two latest models start differentiating one from another. The Vivo V3 is, of course, the smaller one of the duo, as it packs a 5-inch HD display, is powered by slightly less powerful Snapdragon 616 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard store. It measures 143.6 × 71 ×7.5 mm, and weighs only 138 grams. It also means that Vivo V3 has backed by a smaller battery, which clocks in at 2550mAh.
On the other hand, the Vivo V3 Max packs a 3000 mAh battery, as well as a bigger 5.5-inch IPS screen with the bumped up 1080p resolution and powerful Octa-core Snapdragon 652 Chipset. The handset sports 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage out of the box as opposed to 3GB RAM on Vivo V3, but thankfully both smartphones are having similar storages, which also equipped with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. The V3 Max measures 153.9 x 77.1 x 7.58mm and weighs 168 grams. They also run Funtouch OS 2.5 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the connectivity features include Dual SIM slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (Dual band on V3 Max), Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.
Price & Availability:
The Vivo V3 and V3 Max will hit the shelves in India sometime in this month for the price of INR 17980 and INR 23980, respectively. In addition, the company announced Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its new brand ambassador.
