Xiaomi Launches Mi 4S With Fingerprint Scanner
Xiaomi yesterday launched the new Mi 4S smartphone in the event organised in Beijing, China. The Xiaomi Mi 4S will go on sale in homeland China starting March 1 and has been priced at CNY 1699 (approximately Rs. 18,000 in Indian Currency). It will be available in Black, Gold, Purple and White colours. The Xiaomi Mi 4S packs fingerprint scanner at the back panel and runs MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The smartphone features a 5-inch (1080×1920) pixels full-HD IPS display and offers a pixel density of 441ppi. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 paired with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The handset packs 64GB inbuilt storage and supports dual-SIM. One of the biggest USP of the smartphone is it supports microSD card slot which gives it an advantage over Xiaomi Mi 4, Mi 4i and Mi 4c.
The smartphone sports a 13MP rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. There is also a 5MP front facing camera for selfies and video chats on board as well. The Xiaomi Mi 4S also packs infrared sensor. The Mi 4S supports good connectivity options like 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and packs USB Type-C. The handset is backed by a powerful 3260mAh non-removable battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge feature. This is a premium looking mid-range offering and comes with all the whistles that you would expect from a Xiaomi offering. The device is pretty much like a smaller version of the Redmi Note 3 that was released late last year by the manufacturer.
However, the Mi 4s is significantly more powerful than any of the mid-range devices that the company offers right now. The company says that the Xiaomi Mi 4S is an upper version to the Mi 4. It sports front and rear glass panels, apart from a metal finishing body build. The biggest addition claimed by the company is the fingerprint scanner. The smartphone supports dual-4G LTE standby with VoLTE support.
